The NEED for SPEED

"Speed is the core foundation of our program," Florida coach Urban Meyer said the other day. "Our whole offseason is based on speed. We teach guys how to run, we teach them how to start. NFL combine drills? We do that as freshmen. If they stay with us four years, when they head to the next level, they'll test very well because we teach them how to. We just built a brand-new, 23,000-square-foot weight room, and the focal point is the track right in the middle of the weight room, with the video cameras where we teach the speed."
