Well,a little low this week but that was due to a couple of fitness tests which were planned but didnt actually get done so maybe we'll just call this a "rest" week. Yeah, thats it, a rest week. I wonder what Coach Paulo's view on "rest" weeks is?

Oh wow - I didn't get my tests done either - I think because of friends in town and the holidays - so I am glad I am not the only one. I thought he was going to fire me!! LOL!! ITA on the easy week thing!! LOL!!

He wouldnt fire you, hes way to compassionate for that...

Tonight is the treadmill test and tomorrow is the trainer test so we'll see how those go. At least they are (relatively) short.

Hey man,
What is the treadmill test? I do a ton of hotel treadmill runs on layovers and I always thought they were 1) too inaccurate and 2) 10% off from real roads.

Yeah, the speed isnt important... its really just to find an LTHR for training zones.

If I wanted to do a real fitness test, I'd run a flat road race ;)

I guess I should add the test is done by incrementing the speed every minute and monitoring HR, something that you can really only do on a treadmill as it would be hard to control your speed that closely on a track or road.

Understood, and you're right, that test will find LTHR - eventually!

It actually doenst take that long, even if you start from a walk.
