DCLL

I had the MRI on the knee this morning and got results back this afternoon. As it turns out, it appears that according to Dr. Bock I have a "tear of the distal collateral lateral ligament." Obviously this sucks. The good news, however, is that it is nice to know that there is something wrong with my knee and that once it heals, I should be back to running.

In the mean time, its back to the pool for the next couple of weeks until I can resume running without pain. Unfortunately, this means I'm officially listed as "doubtful" (in NFL speak) for St. Anthony's. I really want to race but at the same time dont want to risk further injury in the first race of the year.

Crap. I remember after about 5 mos of ITBS wishing my MRI would come back with something on it, just so there would be a plan. Sorry you're torn, hope you heal fast.

Hi Andrew,
What is the course of action you will take?

Back to the pool? As in laps or aqua-jog? Keep the preassure on the swimming - you know you want to.

Nick: Going forward the plan is to take this week off from running and then start back next week with some 40min runs. With having been said, any activity which illicits pain will be strictly prohibited meaning my first few runs may just be small loops so that I'm never too far from the start/finish.

Rob: That reference was (unfortunately) to aqua-jogging. "Going back" implies that I left in the first place. Why would I ever stop swimming??? ;)

Good thing you have a sweet new house to play around in while you're bored :) Get the knee fixed asap so we can play up in Prov this summer!!!
