Aug24-30

S: 25,000 yds
B: 8h 5min
R: 7h 29min

Total: 22h 9min

Coming off Elite Nationals I got back into things right away. Unfortunately a slip up in the sleeping schedule meant a rough couple of days in the middle of the week but I was able to catch up over the weekend thanks in large part to an awesome post pancake nap on Saturday.

It looks like I had around 60 miles of running in 6 days which is getting close to respectable. Hopefully that will translate to some fast finishes in the last few races this season. Speaking of running, this Saturday is the Monte Sano 10k where David will likely jog with me for a little while before romping to a resounding victory.

how in the world are you able to swim that much? I need to take lessons from you.

Also I ran with some dude at Louisville who knew you! He was with timex, not competing...

The smart ass answer? 5k/day * 5 days ;)

The real answer? If you dont have ppl to swim with (Masters group or other peeps) you have to show up at the pool with a workout written down. Otherwise, its too easy to talk yourself out of the full workout and get out of the pool earlier than you may have intended.

PS, I can do lessons... you just have to make it down to Huntsville...

I wish we could all go back to UVA because when I knew you and Rudy were going to be at the pool it was so much easier to make myself go....

In other news, this dude that I ran with also tried to tell me he did the Huntsville sprint with you or something, and last year he beat you by 1 second but this year you beat him. And I was like oh, isn't the order of that race backwards or something? And he was like umm no. But then I just read your blog post and I swear it says it is! what's the deal? do you know who this man is?

Yeah, that was Bruce Gennari. The race he beat me at last year was the Mountain Lakes Triathlon, a sprint in Guntersville (which is only about 35 miles from here).

Oh, and FWIW, since he mentioned that I should mention I'm 4-0 against him this year ;)

obvi you're 4-0.

a baller wouldn't be anything else!

Do you have Rudy's e-mail? I don't have facebook access from work and before I forget I want to e-mail him to see if I can get in on a UVA tri kit order this fall....
